Four decades of experience, now working for Scotland
A former British diplomat with four decades of experience representing the UK across five continents, Paul Dryden launched Dryden Global in 2026 to specialise in commercial diplomacy and international economic development.
Having served in leadership roles including Deputy Head of Mission and Chargé d'Affaires, Paul has a long track record of helping UK businesses enter global markets and of securing high-value foreign investment.
This next chapter focuses on two things: supporting companies and organisations entering new markets internationally, and promoting Scotland as a competitive, investment-ready destination for global capital.

Why I started Dryden Global
Scotland's economy is wonderfully diverse, built on the drive and ingenuity of thousands of SMEs. What many of these companies now need is the confidence and capability to look beyond Europe and compete on a truly global stage.
That is exactly where I intend to focus my efforts. With four decades of overseas commercial and diplomatic experience, I firmly believe Dryden Global is well placed to help Scottish SMEs expand their international reach, open new markets, and build the kind of global presence their potential deserves.
Whether you are a Scottish company weighing up a new market, or a global business considering Scotland, the first step is a conversation. Tell me a little about where you are and what you are trying to reach.
